Why is a house warmer on the top floor and colder in the basement

    Air currents that are warmer in temperature rise because gases that are heated expand, therefore making them less dense than the air around it, which is why colder air is lower because it is more dense.

    Because warm air rises up so it's warmer on the top floor.
