    Mutation is random, natural selection isn't random because those mutations which are most adaptable to the environmental conditions of the time are those which produce more offspring. I mean, "selection", by definition, isn't "random". The clue is in the title. It's not considered random for the simple reason that it's not random. Natural selection is an extremely deterministic process. So, it's (D) Natural Selection
