If you were to inject a substance that prevents the hypothalamus from releasing gnrh near the end of the follicular phase of an otherwise normally functioning female, what would be the most likely result?

    No ovulation will occur. At the end of follicular phase around the 13th day of the menstrual cycle which means that preovulatory follicle is already viable for ovulation. Halting the FSH would mean the halting also the estrogen hormone production that triggers production of LH, LH which is needed to release the preovulatory follicle from the cumulus oophorous layer or ovulation.
