    True. The chaparral biome is very hot and dry, reaching temperatures of up to 40 degrees Celsius in summer. As a result, fires are very common. However, a lot of the plants' barks are flame resistant. Some plants have even adapted so that their seeds are dormant until they are touched by fire.
