Genetic engineering is actually changing the genes in a plant or animal but artificial selection with animals is putting a male and a female with desirable traits together so that the offspring will have the traits with plants it is mixing the pollen from both plants together and putting the mixed pollen on one of the plants so that the seeds will produce the desirable gene in the plant
