    It has it roots in Anglo-Saxon history. The Anglo-Saxon used tithing to maintain order and keep citizens in check. Tithing is when there are a group of 10 men living close together. These men were responsible for one another and made sure everything was right legally, everyone was secure and everyone were handling their responsibilities.
