A traditional team would be where the team members are actually physically present ie in meetings to plan discuss and implement the work projects by personal consultation and direct dealings with the team members. The advantage of this is that one gets to work with people on a personal basis and is more friendly than a virtual team. On the other hand, a virtual team that is held together by electronic communication provides the advantage of being able to bring together probably a wider diversity of people and backgrounds from all over the globe if necessary and utilize their wide experience in which at least one of them may have encountered the same problem before and offer a unique solution.
