    The answer would be a system of referring to cells using letters for columns and numbers for rows

    In Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel a relative reference would look like B2 in a formula. An absolute reference would look like $B$2. When using a relative reference, the reference can change where as an absolute reference does not change.
