Why is active voice generally preferable for business messages?

Active voice gives the idea that actions are being undertaken and that things will be able to be completed. The passive voice gives the appearance that the tasks are not of high importance and that they'll only be completed if the time allows or if the person is interested in completing them. Active voice allows for the belief that the task is important and the result will be high-priority to the listener (s).
