Why do most disciplinary systems require the supervisor to obtain-or at least try to obtain-employee signatures on disciplinary documentation?

    It is proof that the employee has been informed and understands the disciplinary action. It does NOT mean that the employee agrees with the action and should not be taken to mean such.
