Before you can reasonably expect people to share their perceptions and opinions, particularly about things they believe need to improve, you must create a safe environment in which that can happen. one organisation i worked with asked their team for feedback and then took action against some they accused of adopting a negative attitude that undermined the group's morale. unsurprisingly the next time they asked for feedback few people were willing to participate. these types of behaviours from managers are fatal for trust and will undermine your ability to tap into what your team can offer.
