SAP is a resource planning software. With SAP, orders can be inputed into a system and Purchase Orders can be generated.

With a Purchase Order one can track what product has been ordered, and request that item be shipped and be included in inventory. Once Order has been included in inventory it can be shipped to buyer.

A sales process should have all the necessary tools in order to allow the sales to proceed with out delaying delivery and payment. A system like SAP allows for this type of coordination.
