The theory was formulated by Abraham Maslow. He stated that every person has hierarchy of needs that requires to be met orderly and those needs form a pyramid from the most critical to the least one. Our needs are constantly changing, even at workplace. Employees need change with time, therefore, to keep workers motivated to work, effective employers must take that into consideration and adapt to the changing needs of their workers and reward their efforts.
