After planning, organizing and leading function, managers perform the controlling function.

Organisational goals are been made in Planning function, then tasks need to be allocated in Organizing function. Afterwards, people are hired and trained and been motivated in Leading function,

Then there comes the controlling function, where manager perform the activity of analyzing that whether the processes are going in the direction which they have planned in the planning function or not. Manager perform the activity of observing that whether organisation is moving towards achieving the planned outcomes or not, if not, then manager perform the actions trying to overcome those discrepancies. Cutting it short, in controlling function, manager perform the activities of comparing actual working performance with the set standards, and if there is any gap, they he try to overcome and fill it up.

For example, 100 units of burgers were planned to be produced in an hour, but when managers sees the actual yield, which comes to 85. Then manager try to find out what was the reason which made reduction in the production from the desired 100 units to 85.
