Suppose at your university you are asked to find the relationship between weekly hours spent studying (study) and weekly hours spent working (work). Does it make sense to characterize the problem as inferring whether study ""causes"" work or work ""causes"" study? Explain.

    Usually students have fixed number of hours a week to choose between studying and working. So, it is incorrect to say that study causes work or work causes study.

    Students rationally choose total hours as a mix of studying and working. It mainly depends on rationale and preferences of a student.
