    b). False

    Explanation:

Industrial revolution was the transformation of the traditional industry from the handicraft or agrarian methods of processing to a manufacturing means of processing. The industrial revolution was spearheaded by Europe and the United states from about 1760 to 1820 and 1840. This period was characterized by a lot of innovations in the manufacturing sector.

Initially most Americans and Europeans lived in the rural areas where the major economic activities were farming, however during the industrial revolution, most of the population living in the rural areas migrated to areas that had these industries for job opportunities. The workers were not well paid and the work conditions were very harsh, however working in the industry offered better pay than those gotten from farming. The settlement in these areas that had industries is what led to the growth of urban areas and cities.

A major characteristic of the industrial revolution was that initially the industries had very few employees. It was later after migration, that the industries started having a lot of employees. Most of them provided cheap labor since the were low-skilled while opportunities for skilled laborers was abundant since there were very few skilled laborers at the time.
