A good example would be how the anti-smoking movement portrays smoking or cigarettes in horror-like ways.

For example, a teen boy finds a box on the ground and it's growling and shaking the box, and once he opens it it's a grotesque, ugly monster that crawls up to his mouth and goes in. The next scene flashes and it's actually a cigarette, and the teen is smoking.

The ad uses horror like features to badly portray cigarettes and smoking to persuade people not to smoke.
