Flat companies have greater span of control than taller companies.

    Explanation:

The reason is that if the greater number of employees are managed by a senior position which means the manager has greater span of control, such organizations are known as wider or flat organizations as the companies have lower number of management levels. The organization in which Jane and Salma work are examples of flat organization.

On the other hand, the companies in which fewer number of employees are managed by a senior position which means the manager has lower span of control, such organizations are known as tall organizations as the companies have greater number of management levels. The organization in which Billy work is an example of tall organization.
