A marketing company wants to determine which cola beverage is most preferred by consumers. A group of participants tastes Cola A and then rates the taste. The group then tastes Cola B and rates the taste for this cola. A second group of participants follows the same procedure. However, they first taste Cola B and then Cola A.     Explanation:

    We have two different groups of participants. The objective here is to determine which Cola beverage is most preferred by the end users. The first group of participants begin this investigative study with Cola A, then to Cola B. The group here rates there experience occassionef from tasting the individual Cola.

    Then, the other group of participants, in a bid to stimulate and enrich the investigative study, begins their experience, however, with Cola B, then to Cola A. Just like the first group of participants, they went on the relay their experience, also.

    The above basically captures the phenomenon of 2 * 2 mixed factorial design. This phenomenon centers on the combination of two or more independent variables. However, the combination are mixed to achieve a varying experience. Here, the participants are one within subjects factor and the other between group factors. This captures the scenario under study as the two varying groups of participants are presented with different sides of same scenario in a bid to enrich observation and/or study. This is what 2 * 2 mixed factorial design is all about.
