Rational decision making is a systematic process of defining problems, evaluating alternatives, and choosing optimal solutions. When you make a decision, you are choosing the best solution you find from all alternatives. There are six steps within rational decision making and they are 1) defining the problem, 2) identify decision criteria, 3) weighing the criteria, 4) generate alternative courses of action, 5) evaluate each alternative and 6) compute the optimal decision.
