    Some examples of a currency are the Dollar, The Euro and the British Pound.

    They are used by individuals but it's not the usage of the individuals that gives them their purchasing power.

    Currencies have to be backed by a country or a group of countries (such as the European Union) - the correct answer is" a nation or region of the world"
