    Well, all of these are alternatives to credit cards! It depends on what you are buying. But for every day purchases, banks have been promoting debit cards, which automatically with draw from your checking account.

    Banks don't really promote cash, though it is pretty handy for the same thing.

    Mortgages are great if you are buying a house.

    Savings accounts are generally used to save for long term purchases. Banks do promote these, but they aren't handy for making payments.
