What product (s) forms at the cathode in the electrolysis of an aqueous solution of nacl?

    Na⁺

    2H20 + 2e⁻ - - - > H2 + 2OH⁻

    We can also say, that

    Na⁺ + OH⁻ + H2 = NaOH + H2

    At the cathode NaOH and H2 are formed.
