The emission line in the hydrogen spectrum that occurs at the highest frequency is N = 3 TO N = 1.

Hydrogen emit light when it is excited by been exposed to a high voltage. The lines in the hydrogen emission spectrum form regular patterns and they occur at different frequency. The higher the frequency the higher the energy of the light.
