Why doesn't benzaldehyde undergo a self aldol condensation?

    Actually the main reason being benzaldehyde completely lacks alpha hydrogen within its whole structure and then this alpha hydrogen is the only hydrogen adjacent to the carbon from the carbonyl group, hence it will not undergo a self aldol condensation at all.
