Compared to metals, what two factors cause the specific heat of water to appear to be exceptionally high

Water has hydrogen bond within its molecules which is responsible for the high specific heat of water. Also, compared to metals, water has the ability to retain its heat for a longer time and it also takes a longer time for it to get hot. Thus, water has higher capacity for heat than metals.
