All " transuranium elements " (i. e. an atomic number greater than 92) are unstable. Elements in the same family have similar properties. Based on this logic, one would expect seaborgium (Sg) to have similar properties to tungsten (W), which is directly above it in the same family. Elements of atomic mass 92 and above being most unstable called the transuranium group of elements is found to have many common properties and becomes difficult to judge on the basis of properties. Atomic number is the number of protons in the nucleus of the atom and it describes the chemical property of the elements.
