One mole of nitrous acid (HNO2) contains 1.00 gram of hydrogen (H), 14.0 grams of nitrogen (N), and 32.0 grams of oxygen (O). What is the percent composition of nitrogen in nitrous acid?

    Mass % of nitrogen = mass of nitrogen*100 / total mass

    = 14*100 / (1 + 14 + 32)

    = 14*100 / 47

    = 29.7 %
