    51.88 kJ / g

    Solution:

    As we know 1 mole of ethane equals 30.07 g as,

    C₂H₆ = (12.01) ₂ + (1.008) ₆

    = 24.02 + 6.048

    1 mole = 30.068 g

    Now, As heat of combustion of ethane C₂H₆ is,

    = 1560 kJ / mol

    Substituting value of mole by gram,

    = 1560 kJ / 30.068 g

    = 51.88 kJ / g
