    Answer: The volume coefficient of expansion is 3 times the linear expansion coefficient. Convert the metal's linear coefficient into a volume coefficient, then calculate the change in volume for the ethanol and for the tank: (delta V) = (volume coef.) x (original volume) x (original volume) The difference in the two volumes will give you the volume of air.
