Do moving electrons have a magnetic field?

    Now, a current carrying wire is essentially a series of charge carriers (electrons), all moving through the wire ... Since each charge has its own electric field, a moving charge generates a magnetic field. The fields from all these little charges are added up, and we get a final, finite, magnetic field.
