Molecular weight of Nitrogen Oxide, NO

    14g/mol N + 16g/mol O = 30 g/mol NO

    Molecular weight Nitrogen Dioxide, NO2

    14g/mol N + 2 (16g/mol O) = 46g/mol NO2

    Calculate mole NO

    1,500 kg * (1,000g / 1kg) * (1mol / 30 g NO) = 50,000 mol NO

Calculate theoretical yield for the product NO2; assuming 1:1 stoichiometry.

    50,000 mol * (46 g / mol NO2) * (1kg / 1,000g) = 2,300 kg NO2

Percent yield = 100 * (actual yield / theoretical yield)

    100 * (1,500kg / 2,300kg) = 65%
