Why does ground water have more dissolved substances than surface water?

    Because water is a great solvent it can contain a lot of dissolved chemicals grouse water moves through rocks and subsurface soils it has a lot of time to dissolve substances when it moves. Ground water will most times have more dissolved substances then surface water.
