Galvanic cell has anode and cathode and half reactions are:

    Anode reaction: C₂H₅OH + 3H₂O → 12H⁺ + 12e⁻ + 2CO₂; oxidation.

    Cathode reaction: 3O₂ + 12H⁺ + 12e⁻ → 6H₂O; reduction.

    Balanced equation for the overall reaction: C₂H₅OH + 3O₂ → 3H₂O + 2CO₂.

Electrons are transported from anode to cathode.
