    The specific heat capacity of unknown metal is calculated using the following formula

    Q=MC delta T where

    Q = heat (862 j)

    M = mass (17 g)

    C = specific heat capacity=?

    delta T = change in temperature (35-10 = 25 c)

    by making C the subject of the formula C=Q/m delta T

    = 862 j / (17 g x25 c) = 2.028 j/g/c
