Is it possible to distinguish kc from kp by comparing the units used to express the equilibrium constnat?

    Yes, it is possible to distinguish Kc from Kp.

    Kc is defined by molar concentrations, whereas Kp is defined by the partial pressures of the gasses inside a closed system, so units is different.

    For Kc will be (mol/dm³) ˣ or (mol/L) ˣ and for Kp will be Paˣ, atmˣ or torrˣ.

    Kc = Kp·R·T.

    R - gas constant.

    T - temperature.
