How many electrons an oxygen can donate and receive?

    Oxygen can receive 2 electrons to be full

    and can donate 6 electrons to be full

    but for oxygen is easier to gain rather than lose

    Oxygen has 16 number proton. so it will be 2.8.6. to make it stable, oxygen must receive two electron. oxygen can't donate electron because it is in non metal.
