    The equation for the dissociation of acetic acid is:

    CH3CO2H (aq) + H2O (l) H3O + (aq) + CH3CO2 - (aq)

    pH = 0.5 (4.74 - lg (0.5)) = 2.52

    so

    [H^+] = 3.02*10^-3 M = 3.02 mM
