A mixture of helium, neon and argon gases have a total pressure of 790 mmhg. if there is 118.5 mmhg of argon, 474 mmhg of helium, what is the partial pressure of the neon gas?

    The total pressure of a mix of gasses in a certain volume equals the total of the partial pressures of the individual gasses added together. Algebraically. Total (790) = argon (118.5) + helium (474) + neon (unknown) neon = Total - argon - helium neon = 790 - 474 - 118.5 neon = 197.5 mmhg
