    Balanced chemical reaction: C₃H₈ (g) + 5O₂ (g) → 3CO₂ (g) + 4H₂O (g).

There are same number of atoms of on both side of balanced chemical reaction: ten oxygen atoms, three carbon atoms and eight hydrogen atoms.

Carbon is oxidized and oxygen is reduced in this balanced chemical reaction of combustion of propane.
