Calcium carbonate decomposes on heating to form calcium oxide and carbon dioxide. If 0.5g of calcium carbonate is heated in this way.

a) What mass of calcium oxide is formed

b) The mass and volume of carbon dioxide formed at RTP

    (a) calcium forms the Molar mass of CaO is 40+16 g=56g.

    Mass of CaO obtained 56x3 g = 168 g CaO
