24 g of C are needed to produce 1mol of CH₄

    Explanation:

    The reaction is:

    2C (s) + 2H2O (l) → CH4 (g) + CO2 (g)

2 moles of carbon react with 2 moles of water in order to produce 1 mol of methane and 1 mol of carbon dioxide.

If we want to produce 1 mol of methane, we need 2 moles of C

    Let's find out the mass → 2 mol. 12 g/1 mol = 24g
