    N2 + 3 H2 = > 2 NH3

    Rate of reaction = - d[N2]/dt = (-1/3) x d[H2]/dt = (1/2) x d[NH3]/dt

Rate of production of ammonia = d[NH3]/dt

Rate of consumption of hydrogen = - d[H2]/dt

    From the equations above:

    (1/2) x d[NH3]/dt = (-1/3) x d[H2]/dt

    d[NH3]/dt = (2/3) x (-d[H2]/dt)

    Thus the relationship is:

Rate of production of ammonia = (2/3) x Rate of consumption of hydrogen
