What is one advantage and one disadvantage of using hydrogen for fuel?

    Advantages: It works! It only emits water vapor*, and is easier to carry than electricity in batteries. It can also be made from carbon dioxide, but not the normal way. Making fuel from CO2 needs a process called Biological hydrogen production

    Disadvantages: it doesn't exist on earth, it is a man made chemical. Yeah, hydrogen is here, but it is all bound up with other atoms. This means H2 is an inefficient use of energy and will never be a serious fuel. Other posters continue with storage and use issue too. Advantages, there are a few places where H2 as a fuel would be good. In confined spaces that need to be heated. Because burning H2 make no carbon monoxide it is safer than carbon fuels in confined spaces, but burning H2 can deplete the O2 quickly so that must be monitored.
