Absolute dating uses for example, radiocarbon dating method to tell the numeric age of an organic substance and this is not always exact. In the other hand, relative age dating give a more precision since it is comparing the age of a particular part of the substance to the other parts. For example, comparing the lower layer of a rock to the upper layer, it is certain that the lower layer is older than the upper one.
