If the heat released during condensation goes only to warming the iron block, what is the final temperature (in ∘C∘C) of the iron block? (Assume a constant enthalpy of vaporization for water of 44.0 kJ/molkJ/mol.)

    q = n * Delta Hvap

    Where,

    n = number of moles

    = 0.95/18

    = 0.053 mol.

    q = 0.053 * - 44

    = - 2.32 kJ

    q = - qw

    = - (-2.32)

    = 2.32 kJ.

    q = m * C * Delta T

    Delta T = Temp. f - Temp. i

    Temp. f = q / (m * C) + Temp. i

    = 2320 / (75 * 0.449) + 22

    = 91 °C.
