    The given statement is false.

    Explanation:

The extent of ionization depends on the concentration of ions present in the electrolyte. The extent of ionization in the weak electrolytes is inversely proportional to the concentration of ions hence on increasing the concentration of an ion in weak electrolytes the extent of ionization will decrease. On the addition of a solution of a strong electrolyte having a common ion of the weak electrolyte, the concentration of ion will increase which will decrease the extent of ionization. Therefore, the given statement is false.
