A container of gas has a pressure of 2.76 atm at constant temperature. If the volume of the gas in the container expands from 10.0 L to 15.0 L what is the new pressure?

    Explanation:

    P₁V₁/T₁ = P₂V₂/T₂

    Since the temperature of the system remains constant, then we can cancel out the T₁ and T₂ to remain with;

    P₁V₁ = P₂V₂

    We replace the values given in the question. The unknown will be P₂

    2.76 * 10 = P₂ * 15

    27.6 / 15 = P₂

    1.76 = P₂

    = 1.76 atm
