Herbicides can be described as fertilizers which are used to kill unwanted plants or crops. Usually, they are used for the killing of weeds.

Crops are able to withstand the effect of herbicides because a herbicide can be made to destroy only a certain variety of plants which are not required. It does not affect the other crops. Hence, we can say such herbicides are specific in their actions.
