    Answer: The mole fraction of nitrogen = 0.323

    Explanation:

    Molar Mass of O2 = 32g/mol

    Mass of O2 = 88g

    nO2 = 88 / 32 = 2.75mol

    Molar Mass of N2 = 28g/mol

    Mass of N2 = 88g

    nN2 = 88 / 28 = 3.14mol

    Molar Mass of NO2 = 14 + 32 = 46g/mol

    Mass of NO2 = 12g

    nNO2 = 46 / 12 = 3.83mol

    The mole fraction of nitrogen gas

    = nN2 / (nO2 + nN2 + nNO2)

    = 3.14 / (2.75 + 3.14 + 3.83)

    = 3.14 / 9.72 = 0.323
